Boat Tours – Albufeira

Get ready me hearties, and set sail the pirate way for a cruise along the Algarvian coastline. For Albufeira, boat tours are a little different to the norm! You’ll sail by the cliffs and sandy beaches, taking in the sea views, maybe even spotting a dolphin or two. Albufeira sightseeing cruises take you to the caves, tell you about the history of the region, and let you settle back and soak up the Portuguese sun. What more could you ask for?

    Exceptional Experience

The trip to visit the myriad of caves along the coastline was extremely pleasant, thanks not only to the weather, but also the guide, who showed us the best spots along a 20km stretch. For me, Dream Wave were very well organised, and as such, we set out (probably 10km from the shoreline), after Dolphins had been spotted by another boat, and we set out to find them. We were not disappointed, and saw over a dozen Dolphins in their natural habitat, who swam alongside our boat, popping in and out of the water, it was an exceptional experience. Dream Wave allowed us plenty of time, and the tour was the highlight of our holiday in and around the Algarve. As such I make this tour a must for families or, like ourselves, couples.

Experience Boat Tours in Albufeira

Best things to do: Albufeira is a resort town and region, so the beaches are naturally an attraction. There are plenty to choose from; Marinha Beach, Praia da Rocha Baixinha and Playa de Oura are among the top picks. Add in a walk around the old town and a look at the Marina, and you’ll add some areas buzzing with life.

Best time to go: Being in Europe, you’d expect the summer to be the height of the visitor's numbers and the best of the weather. That’s certainly true, but you’ll also find that all year round this region has pleasant weather. Although the temperatures may not be as high as you’d expect. Better check the forecast before you travel.

• The Algarve coastline stretches for some 125 miles, and with its craggy cliffs and beaches, well, it’s no wonder that people flock here year after year.

• Portugal is well known for its sumptuous cuisine, and you’d think that big cities like Lisbon would be the place to find them. In fact, many of the Michelin Star talents are based in the Algarve. Seek them out and happy eating!

• Bacalhau is the most popular dish in the region. And what’s more, it’s a very diverse dish as it can be cooked in 360 different ways! Try as many as you can.
