You will be boarding the cruise at the port of Belem. En route to Cascais, enjoy fascinating stories about the route that was used by Portuguese navigators 500 years ago to enter the city of Lisboa. See one of Portugal’s largest maritime defensive structures, the imposing and formal site of St. Juliao da Barra Fort.
Once in Cascais, enjoy a guided stroll over the Cascais Citadel, a set of fortifications built between the 15th and 17h century to protect the main Portuguese Atlantic port before entering Lisboa, from pirate and corsairs robberies.
Delve into the fascinating history of the town and see a unique natural chasm located in the seaside cliffs, the “Hells Mouth”, a stunning location where you can experience the full force of the Atlantic Ocean and take Instagram-worthy snaps. You have two hours to explore on your own and visit your preferred monuments or walk through the charming streets of the village and try some local cuisine.
In the end, you will return to Lisboa in a comfortable air-conditioned van or minibus.
