Overview

Begin this incredible tour at the Plaza Martin, kernel of the subsequent development of the city of Buenos Aires. Your guide will tell you all about the foundation of the city by the Spanish and its later expansion. From here we’ll take the Mitre train to the suburb of San Isidro, where you can admire the splendid gothic church dating from 1706. The town’s old quarter is also worth a visit and you shouldn’t miss the views over the Rio de la Plata from the picturesque Paseo de los Ombues promenade.

Next we’ll take the coastal train to the delta station in the district of Tigre. We’ll stroll down to the river port of Tigre where we’ll board a boat and cruise through the labyrinth of channels and slow moving streams in what is one of the world’s largest deltas. You’ll learn how the inhabitants of Tigre changed this area of desolate swampland into an Eden of grassy paths and canals of clear water.

Admire the glitzy yacht clubs, the former residence of President Sarmiento, now a museum dedicated to his memory and have your camera at the ready to take some snaps of the floating markets, and bobbing taxis and ambulances that make this area unique in Latin America.

Soon we’ll leave the Delta and enter the impressive Rio de la Plata, the widest river in the wold at this point. We’ll sail into Buenos Aires along the Costanera Navigation Canal, as you admire the city’s impressive skyline along with magnificent River Plate stadium, the Campus of the University of Buenos Aires and the city’s port and cruise liner terminal. The tour ends at Puerto Madero.
