Native guides will reveal the mysteries of the swamps and bayous and the Cajun "joie de vivre."
Discover how the seafood from our bountiful waters provides a wide assortment of delectable local dishes! Observe the nesting grounds of alligators, egrets, raccoons, nutria, and many species of snakes. Some wildlife are more numerous during the warmer months of the year. Learn why our wetlands are disappearing due to coastal erosion as well as man's efforts to correct the damage it has done and restore this vital habitat

Bring your camera to capture the "bon temps" (good times) on the bayou! An incredibly beautiful region, a trip to the swamps and bayous of Southern Louisiana is a must do.
Itinerary
The tour departs from the Gray Line “Lighthouse” Ticket Office located at Toulouse Street and the Mississippi River (at the Steamboat Natchez Dock), only 1 block from Jackson Square in the French Quarter.
From here you will board an air-conditioned coach and travel to the swamps and bayous of Louisiana. Enjoy a narrated tour as you cross the Mississippi River to reach the wharf to board a boat for this trip to the swamps and bayous.
A local Cajun guide will accompany you on this boat trip into the swamps and point out the nesting grounds of alligators, raccoons, egrets and species of snakes.
Snacks and refreshments are available for purchase on the boat.
The tour ends at the starting point.
