Activity Overview


The very best way to see and enjoy historic Kuching is from the Sarawak river, the main artery around which the city has grown. This river cruise offers a view of the city and its surroundings that is impossible to experience from dry land. Glide past a host of fascinating sights to get a close-up view of traditional life on and around the river including colourful Malay villages. See brightly-painted tambangs ferrying passengers, villagers going about their everyday activities, and fishing boats and wooden cargo vessels plying the river. The cruise runs from late afternoon to twilight with the added pleasure of the setting sun as a backdrop (weather permitting). The cruise ends with colourful lights coming on all along the Kuching Waterfront as you approach the jetty.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Kuching and taken in a coach to the riverside pier for a cruise of Kuching city.

This 2 hours relaxing cruise on the Sarawak river takes you along the picturesque riverside city of Kuching with its many beautiful landmarks. The boat glides past some of the main attractions of Kuching: Malay houses built on stilts by the riverbank surrounded by densely grown Nipah palms, fishing villages and a vegetable market.

During the cruise, enjoy a full view of the Astana, the former residence of the White Rajah, and Fort Margherita (now a Police Museum) and the elegant City Mosque.

You will be dropped back at your hotel at the end of the tour.
