Best time to go: For a comfortable experience, you’re best to visit the region between May and October. It’s the dry season and as a bonus, you have famous events such as Mindil Beach Sunset Markets and the Darwin Festival.

Make it your base: As you’re visiting the region, and Darwin is on the doorstep of the outback, it’s a good idea to have the city as your base. Explore the beauty of the national parks and return at night to relax and enjoy a beer! Darwin has a laid-back, friendly vibe.


• The Sunset Markets at Mindil beach are more than just markets. These are events! You can watch performers, buy souvenirs and taste food, all while the sun sets in the distance. Perfect!
