Best things to do: This Red Sea resort destination has some of Egypt’s most popular beaches, but also coral reefs, so pulling yourself away from the resort may be a tough one. Do though as there are some wonderful places to discover. There are natural features like the Ras Mohamed and Nabq Nature Reserves. For the history and architecture, there’s Saint Catherine’s Monastery, Mustafa Mosque and Jabal Mousa, plus the beaches and diving areas that capture the coral reefs.

When to go: Summer is high season, and when the temperatures are at their hottest. That however shouldn’t put you off as you are guaranteed good, warm weather. During the spring and autumn, you’ll find the average temperature to be around 25c. Perfect for swimming in the Red Sea, yes milder than summer, but still comfortable to enjoy.
